In the 1980s and 90s, Alex Pellish, Rich Freitas, and Mat Tarbox played together in Mystic bands such as 17 Relics, Delta of Venus, and Skimbleshanks. In 2007, Pellish founded a new studio and asked Freitas and Tarbox to work on some songs, and they realized they should collaborate with the many talented artists around them.
