In the 1980s and 90s, Alex Pellish, Rich Freitas, and Mat Tarbox played together in Mystic bands such as 17 Relics, Delta of Venus, and Skimbleshanks. In 2007, Pellish founded a new studio and asked Freitas and Tarbox to work on some songs, and they realized they should collaborate with the many talented artists around them. Their driving impetus is to write songs that they all enjoy.
